Service Club

The SMMS Service Club encourages Sierra Madre Middle School students to engage in
opportunities that help their school and greater communities.  Started by parents
over ten years ago, it continues to be an activity that is sponsored and advised by our
parents with the support of the Kiwanis Club of Sierra Madre.
For the 2023-2024 school year, Service Club meetings are only open to 6th graders and
will help prepare them for the required service hours they will need to complete as
7 th and 8 th graders. Volunteer opportunities are open to all students.

Meetings are held the first Monday of the month from 1:40 – 2:30pm in the library.
Students will hear from speakers on opportunities for volunteering within our
community such as decorations for the Kersting Court Christmas Tree, window
painting prep and library opportunities. We will discuss volunteerism, what service
means, and look for opportunities for service on our campus.

The Service Club is directly supported by the Kiwanis Club, as well as the fundraising
efforts of our Annual Fund.  We are truly grateful to all of our parents and families for
their donations.
